Mosquito Repellent

Mosquitoes: To repel these nasties, hang these sachets around the area outside where you will be staying:

1 cup orrisroot
4 Tbs citronella oil
1 cup each, dried: southerwood, wormwood, mugwort, and santolina
1/2 cup each, dried: lavender flowers, rosemary, and anise hyssop flowers

Combine the orrisroot with the citronella oil in a glass jar that has a screw-top lid.
Let the mixture sit for a few days.

In a large non-metal container, combine the remaining ingredients.
Add the citronella mix and blend well.
Pack into large muslin sachets [about 5" by 3"] and close with a rubber band or length of twine.
Use twine or ribbon to hang the sachets.
To prolong the life of these sachets, keep them away from direct contact with rain, dew, or other moisture. Store in a sealed plactic bag or glass jar when not using.
