Hello All, It was Valentine's Day yesterday and I spaced off buying the valentines for my girls to take to school until the last minute. In a small town this isn't a good thing. We found one box, which wouldn't be bad except for the fact that both girls needed valentines for their whole class and the box didn't have enough for everyone. So the kids in my oldest daughter's class are receiving homemade valentines complete with pink paper lacy hearts, stickers and glitter on the front of the cards. Of course making valentine cards would not be complete with out tormenting your younger sister by telling her the glitter is all yours. It's also getting to be the time of year when gardening starts becoming something I dream about on a regular basis. Which reminds me I have to get my order in for my seeds, that I have been putting off until we have the money, sent in soon. I'm planning on ordering a lot of sample sized packages of herb seeds and see how many I can actually make grow. I figure if I get seven plants I will have paid for my order in savings over buying plants. Considering I am going to order 30 packages I think chances are good I will get more then 7 plants. Find a place and a time you will not be disturbed but if you are know you will come out safely and quickly. Slowly go under seeing the colors in this order. You don't have to hold the color for long but do not go on to the next until you see the color you are on. Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Purple (or violet) See a white hall and start walking along it. At the end of the hall there are steps climbing up to what appears to be a shimmering ceiling. Look at the steps and notice what they are made of before you start climbing. White wood, gray stone, what? Slowly start climbing counting from 19 down to 1 as you climb for you know that the steps number 19. 19 18 17 16 15 14 13 12 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 As you reach the top of the steps you slide though the ceiling, for it is made of water. You find you can breath easily as you start swimming upward from the depths. As you swim the water gets lighter and lighter until you break the surface in the middle of a reflection of the full moon but you do not stop until you are completely free of the water and flying. Up and up farther you fly and land on the land facing away from the water. You turn and find the water is confined to your own chalice with the full moon reflecting in its depths. You see that you are dressed in dry robes of white and gold. You lift the cup to your lips and closing your eyes you take a sip, feel the power and the magic flow as you drink. You open your eyes and there before you stands the Goddess. The one you follow. Greet and welcome her with words of your choosing. Ask her for any words of wisdom that she might have to impart to you. When she is finished talking, thank her for her wisdom. You bow to turn to walk away but the path you took to reach here is gone. The wisdom of it's journey now a part of you. You turn back to the Goddess and she is now gone. Before you is a cave opening with a light beckoning far into its depths. Through the darkness you walk into the light. Before you are steps, which slope down. You start walking down them counting one by one. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 And there before you is a familiar hall. Watkins knew from the time she was 15 that she wanted to be a writer but did not really start writing until she entered college where she worked on her college newspaper and also worked as the editor of the feature section for one semester. She was also introduced to the love of writing poetry at this time. Fortunately for all of us most of the poems have been lost to the world of men. After college she worked several jobs during the next few years but none included writing. It wasn't until after both of her children had started school in 1998 that she went back to her love of putting words on a computer screen. Her first submission was accepted by publication by the IOWAN newsletter and it started her on the path of truly honing her work.
